The University of Rio Grande has announced several events starting from Aug. 17th – Sept. 13th to kick off the 2024 school year! These events are open to students, alumni. Also, some of these events include fundraisers, 50/50 drawings, and purchasing rubber ducks.

Aug. 23rd, Friday– 6:00pm “Live on the Green” back to school event. Enjoy music, food, and fun as we kick off the semester and Founders’ Friday! Meet the team from 6-7pm, followed by performances by Nolan Collins, and Cami NYX and The Shades.
Aug. 30th, Friday– Tailgate 5:30-7:30pm at Jackson Memorial Stadium Parking Lot, Jackson Oh. Jackson vs. Ironton Football game.
Sept. 6th, Friday– 5:30-7:30pm at Ohio Valley Bank, main bank parking lot 3rd & 4th ave. Gallipolis, OH. Gallipolis vs. Point Pleasant.
Sept. 13th, Friday– “Family Day at Rio” Founders’ Day “Duck Drop”. 5:00pm 218 N College Ave. Rio Grande, OH. Hosted by the Office of Institutional Advancement, Student Life, Mental Health and Well-Being, and Rio, the event will feature rodeo food trucks, inflatables by the Army National Guard, an interactive art exhibit by the University of Rio Grande Art Club, face painting, and cornhole sponsored by URG Greek Life.
All proceeds from activities, raffles, and ducks will support our Founders’ Day of Giving initiatives across campus. Handicap parking is available in the OVB lot; general parking is across the street.
Sept. 13th, Friday– 5:00pm “Duck Drop”. Park at Bob Evans Farm to get a hayride to Lyne Center Hill. Cheer on Rio soccer and stay for the duck drop. Ducks may be purchased for $10/duck prior to drop in person at the office of IA 8:00am to 5:00pm M-F, or maybe purchased BUY A DUCK: RIO.EDU/FOUNDERSDAY.
